The Jisc-Approved Transformative Journal List

Transformative journals (TJs) are subscription/hybrid journals that commit to transitioning to full open access. The requirements for TJs have been set by UK higher education (HE) and research institutions and endorsed by the UUK Jisc content negotiation strategy group.

Requirements for Jisc-approved Transformative Journals

To be a Jisc-approved TJ, a journal must first meet the Plan S Criteria for Transformative Journals and have been approved for Plan S TJ status.
In addition, the journal must be included within a Jisc Transitional Agreement (TA) and/or allow authors to deposit their Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) in a repository without embargo and under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
This latter requirement should be extended to all authors where possible, though Jisc-approved TJ status may still be attainable for publishers providing this to a subset of authors only (such as those whose funders require it).
