The Jisc-Approved Transformative Journal List
Transformative journals (TJs) are subscription/hybrid journals that commit to transitioning to a fully open access journal. The requirements for TJs have been set by UK higher education (HE) and research institutions and endorsed by the UUK Jisc content negotiation strategy group.
To be a Jisc-approved TJ, a journal must have committed to meet the requirements of a TJ and either be a title within a Jisc transitional agreement or/and offer zero-embargo open access for the author's accepted manuscript. Further details on requirements for Jisc-approved TJs can be found on our open research pages.
The Jisc-approved TJs list is compiled weekly, and the exact date on which the most recent version of the list was created can be found beneath the download link below.

If you wish to check whether a particular title is a Jisc-approved TJ, you can now do this by consulting the Romeo record for the individual title rather than scanning the entire list. We have added a new 'TJ Status' field within the 'Publication Information' section of the record, which clearly states whether a journal is a Jisc and/or Plan S approved TJ. If the TJ Status field is absent from the record, then the journal is not a TJ.
